B'NAI SHALOM CALENDAR & REPORT

Every six months the B'nai Shalom members and friends gather together to share food, fellowship and a guest speaker with outstanding qualifications and knowledge of things Jewish and Mormon.

The
April 3th, 2008 speaker was Mindy Jeppesen of Seattle. She has a Master's degree in the Hebrew Bible from Harvard and studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her subject was "Learning to Study the Scriptures All Over Again – Gospel Doctrine...Rabbinic Style !"

The October 5th, 2007 speaker was Mark Paredes, the
national outreach director for the American Jewish Congress and Director of Jewish Relations on the Southern California Public Affairs Council.


B'nai Shalom (Children of Peace) is an organization of Mormons and Jews. The Mormons are members of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints who recognize and share a common Jewish heritage or have an interest and love for the Jewish People and their culture. Within the framework of existing LDS programs, B'nai Shalom promotes greater understanding of Jewish culture, heritage and traditions, and encourages, assists and promotes Jewish genealogy
