PETRA : Rose stone cities carved into the rock

Petra is Jordan's most popular tourist attraction. Containing the "Rose-Red City half as old as time," carved out of stone more than 2,000 years ago by Nabataean artisans. Hidden in the craggy mountains, it can only be reached by horseback or by walking through a narrow path flanked by towering cliffs. Hewn from living stone, the temples are considered tobe a wonder of the modern world, andare a must-see of the Middle East.
