DOME OF THE TABLETS This small dome is thought to mark the site of the Holy of Holies of the ancient Israelite Temple. Other Temple ruins may lie close by underground. But archaeological digs are not allowed on the Temple Mount. Some think that this may be the place where the Ark of the Covenant is hidden. |
